I have read of your grandfather, but the fact that he was one of the officers in the Oxford Arctic Expeditions eluded me.

A Fettes man, recipient of the Polar Medal, stationed as a naval attache in Yugoslavia, gun running in the Balkans, serving in SOE's Norwegian section, operations in Albania ... He should have made more than a passing acquaintance with Fitzroy Maclean.

I have asked for "Target Danube", and I would order both "Under the Pole Star" and "Footholds Against a Whirlwind", but there are not any currently unavailable new editions and used copies seem to be very expensive. However, I would be interested in learning more. So, any tips about more information will be genuinely appreciated.
